To those of you who apply, I can totally relate to you. I graduated in July and still no serious job offers have come my way. It seems to the be the tone of the times. Everyone I know seems to be struggling in some way. Whether its financially, educationally, physically or emotionally everything seems to be in a funk.

With all the negativity looming around, I work extra hard to keep myself productive and proactive. Like a fine wine greatness takes time. Abduzeedo.com came out with a great post for those who are grinding in the graphic field. Even if your not in the design field, I find the post very informative and motivational. Speaking of motivational inspiration, I got to be part of a concept video for my cousins wedding shot by Starcross’d Creative. Talk about people who take pride in their craft, Starcross’d staff impressed me with their dedication and hard work. I gotta give it to actors and actresses who film for months day and night to produce what we all see on the screen. We filmed for over 6 hours at two locations. Armed with 2 beefy Canon 5D’s, a grip of lenses, strobe lights, smoke machines, bright ass lights and what looked like a hefty handy-cam for audio, these guys where real legit in the wedding game. I finally got a glimpse of the finish product last saturday night at wedding reception @ Humphry’s on the bay. Let’s all get out there and make a difference, not matter how small, as long as it betters yourself and the people around you.

First thing on my mind, is the recent allegations between Shawn Merriman and Tila Tequila. Apparently…

“On September 6, 2009, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department responded to a citizen’s complaint that was initiated by Tila Nguyen (a.k.a. Tila Tequila),” Merriman’s statement read. “I was taken into custody based upon that complaint. At the time, I was concerned about her welfare given the intoxicated state she appeared to be in, and I encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided. We would all do our best to help a friend if we considered their actions to be detrimental to their personal safety. I in no way caused any harm to Ms. Nguyen, however, paramedics were called, and she was examined, but no injuries were reported. She was released and has since returned to Los Angeles, California.”

…according to CNN.com. I find this the epitome a non-contributing excuse for a human being getting more than their 15 minutes of fame.  The sheer idea of gaining some sort of recognition based off someone else’s name boggles my mind. I deeply support anyone in the struggle to better themselves, but I hate those types of people who find it necessary to drag other people down in order to elevate their “status”. It’s a real testate of our time, if you don’t have a talent, why not ride the coat tails of someone who does? But thats just my opinion, but in all honesty, fuck that bitch… messing up my teams season.

That aside, I found an amazing video of a huge projection project placed on the facade of a multi-story building. The quality of the wall projection is insane and what’s even more amazing is how the people walking around, don’t really notice this extraordinary piece of art and design in motion.

As many of you don’t know, I help design art for a local band in Temecula named Reign Cycle. Good friends, good guys, good music all in one mix. They are in the process of recording but are playing a couple of live shows, including one that I am booking in late November at the famous ‘Vic’s Warehouse’ (more info coming soon) but check them out! As for the new shirts for the RC boys,I am 90% close to finishing the Reign Cycle Throne t shirt. I know the boys have been waiting so patiently… but I guarantee no disappointments (or I hope not because I’ve spent a lot of time on it). On a last note, I’ve been messing around with different type faces for future minors branding. I’m still working on more styles but I thought I’d share the work coming along and what s’ in store for the near future. Well thanks for taking the time and reading this blog! Something I will be dreaming of for a while, this Black and gray  beauty comes complete with:

all for a cool $570. This being the same bike used to make the Fuji x Obey fixed gear. The fixed gear comes in a gloss black finish with a custom Fuji gold anodized track bar, gold chain, stem and other gold accents. A beautiful bike made by Shepard Fairey, almost too pretty to ride around in, unless your are in a hurry to get mugged by looks or a baseball bat.

Being new to the “cycling” game, I have come to find a true interest/appreciation for those who take it to the next level. Originally made for transportation cycling has come a long way since I was first introduced to it. Strictly riding my bike  to and from middle school on some beater Huffy my parents bought me so that they wouldn’t have to taxi my ass. I never really took care of the bike itself. Never really gave the time to tinker around and learn about the sport/history. After graduating to high school, friends cars became the viable source of transportation and my old Huffy became a wall mounted ornament in my garage, It’s recently where I’ve come to realize what I had been missing out on as a child. What I thought was just a source of getting from point A to point B, really has a strong following. Passionate people, crafting pieces of art that they fucking ride to get places! How awesome is that. And here I sit thinking, who the fuck cares if the shit is made from Aluminum or Chro-moly steel? I guess this was the summer of exploration. Call me bandwagon, but what’s wrong with appreciating a hobby with as much passion as those who already have been in it. It’s funny how new comers get ridiculed for trying something new. Trying to expand themselves as a person becomes a gateway for haters to pull out their daggers. This being topic that comes up frequently in MNRS sessions. Sports teams, video games, music, movies, books, TV shows you fucking name it, there WILL be “THAT GUY”. I guess it comes with the territory, never the less the criticism doesn’t stray me away from experiencing things I am interested in. I guess you can say that is what Minors is all about. The minority, the young, and the few that try to pave a life for themselves and friends. I can stand on my little soap box forever, ranting and raving but let’s not waste your and my time.

This sunday the San Diego Chargers will be playing against the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome. Both teams come in at 1-1 in the preseason, both losing their season openers. According to ESPN.com, Atlanta will be coming in as the favorite with a 2 1/2 spread against the Chargers with a 42.o over/under. I for one will be watching Ladainian Tomlinson and Philip Rivers during the first couple plays before they put their second string in to fumble things up. Being a San Diego fan I was glad to hear that on August 24, Philip Rivers renewed his contract to a 6 years $92 Million extension. As far as LT’s contact, it had been negotiated and restructured to help relieve the teams cap break during the 2009 season. With only 3 years left in his contract I am keeping my fingers crossed for a super bowl ring. Go Bolts.

Me and Ramon saw the midnight showing of Inglorious Bastards. In my opinion, it was a really good movie. It was slow at times, but we got through it. Brad Pitt was hilarious killing dem Natzeeeeesssss. Best scene for me was “The Bear Jew”. Go watch it if you’re a fan of Quentin Tarentino and Brad Pitt’s awesomeness!
